Orthokeratology

Is Orthokeratology Right for You?

Orthokeratology may be an excellent option for individuals with mild to moderate myopia and astigmatism who are looking for an alternative to glasses or daytime contact lenses.

What is Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)?

Orthokeratology, also known as Ortho-K, night lenses is a non-surgical vision correction method that utilises specially designed gas-permeable contact lenses to gently reshape the cornea while you sleep.

How Does Ortho-K Work?

During sleep, the Ortho-K lenses gently flatten the cornea to correct refractive errors. This reshaping effect is temporary and reversible, so you’ll need to wear the lenses nightly to maintain clear vision throughout the day. Many patients experience significant improvement in their vision after just one night of Ortho-K treatment, with maximum results achieved within one to two weeks.

Benefits of Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)

Studies have shown that Ortho-K may help slow down the progression of myopia in children and adolescents by up to 60%, potentially reducing the risk of associated eye conditions in the future such as glaucoma, cataract and macula degeneration.
